WHAT TO EXPECT ON A VIEWING TRIP IN SPAIN

When buying a property abroad, there can be a multitude of elements to consider. Aside from the property search, you will also be considering locations of interest, evaluating your budget, researching the financing of your property and seeking legal advice. The search for your dream home can be an exciting process and quite a simple one if you speak to us at Sequre International.

British buyers have a huge appetite for property in Spain right now; information regarding the purchase process is readily available, flights occur on a daily basis from all major UK airports, property prices are around 50% lower than they were in 2008 and the exchange rate is really favourable for property hunters – now is the perfect time to buy.

When embarking on your search, the best place to start is by booking an inspection trip. There are many advantages to these one-to-one trips and here is a rundown on what to expect on a typical viewing trip with Sequre –

What is covered in your viewing trip?

  • Flights

Our viewing trips include return flights to Spain from a UK airport of your choice. Typically, a trip will span across four days and three nights. This also includes airport transfers to and from your hotel to make the whole journey that little bit smoother. You will be able to discuss the entire process before you depart with one of our dedicated property consultants who will give you a detailed agenda, a comprehensive viewing schedule and will be happy to answer any queries you might have. When you arrive in Spain, a member of our team will meet you on arrival and you can embark on your property search.

  • Locations

Each area of Spain offers something different and aside from focusing on large areas such as Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol – looking at specific towns and cities in these locations can add a whole new dimension to your property search. Marbella, Malaga, Alicante, Andalucía, Casares, Torrevieja and Murcia are just a handful of regions you can visit, so research thoroughly and choose wisely which areas you’d like to focus on before you book your trip. If you’re not entirely sure where in Spain you’d like to start your search, our consultants can offer some helpful guidance on suitable locations based upon your lifestyle and property wish-list.

  • Properties

The main benefit of an inspection trip is to view the properties you are potentially looking at buying – these are the properties which you will personally be able to view on your trip. Once you have discussed locations of interest, property types, budgets and a wish-list with one of our international consultants, a viewing trip will allow you to personally visit these properties which meet your criteria. You will be guided by a member of our Spanish property team and will have the opportunity to visit your pre-selected properties and discuss your requirements throughout your stay.

While your visit may be back-to-back property viewings throughout the day, the evenings are free for you to leisurely spend some time in your location of choice.

  • Hotels

Accommodation is an important part of a viewing trip as it is the place where you return after a day of viewings, collect your thoughts and reflect on the properties and locations you have seen throughout the day. As you’ll be in Spain for an average of three nights, it’s important to reside somewhere that’s comfortable and within easy access of the areas in which you are viewing your properties. This is why we choose to use hotels which are all a minimum of 4 stars. By utilising local hotels, you will spend more time in the region of your choice which will ultimately give you a further insight to life in Spain.

  • Legal and Financial Advice

Sequre’s viewing trips also allow you to utilise free legal and financial advice. The buying process in Spain is somewhat different to the UK and speaking to professionals can prove to be incredibly useful for those buying in Spain for the first time. We have relationships with a number of different agents and we introduce our clients to English-speaking Spanish lawyers and mortgage brokers to ensure that they leave the trip with a plethora of information which will help when making a decision on buying a property in Spain.
